Production Manager


Reports to: Chief Marketing and Operations Officer

Position Description:

Leads a video and creative services production team that does the production and distribution of engaging content across all health condition communities,  continually advancing Patient Power’s learning experience for cancer patients and care partners. Oversees and directs the end-to-end content production process.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  •        Create and manage the all-up content production schedule, editorial calendars and production process. 
  •        Ensure production projects are completed and projects milestones are met.
  •        Constantly seek new ways to improve quality and efficiency in production and project management; streamline pre- and post-production workflows.
  •        Prioritize creative requests and problem-solve on a daily basis.
  •        Follow up and reinforce turnaround times needed based on project scope and current workload.
  •        Manage external system engagement tools such as Basecamp, JW player and Zoom and provide key insights to staff.
  •        Maintain visual, audio and text quality control of all material published on the website and other online channels including ensuring its usability, accuracy and credibility.
  •       Monitor internal and external production resource needs.
  •        Build out and socialize the Patient Power Editorial Standards and Guidelines/Policies documentation. This will include all formats for written and event-related presentations, client deliverables, and web/social channel copy. This work should be done jointly with the Web Editorial/Publishing Manager and vetted with Content and Community Director.
  •        Responsible for content quality control of all material published on the website and other communication channels. Provide editing and proofing resources to content contributors in order to deploy editorially perfect communications.
  •         Ensure and support staff in complying with all production/editorial standards. Mentor and upskill production staff as needed.
  •        Regularly gather and synthesize feedback about production processes and output in order to improve where needed.
  •        Lead on-site during live events.  Responsible for setting onsite roles and responsibilities;  interface with Community Manager/Director to assure key content deliverables are met and manage the overall flow of the event. This on-site role may be filled by the Event Manager if designated by the Senior Production Manager. 

Collaborative Touchpoints:

  •        Collaborate with Business Development and Content and Community Director to brainstorm, develop and (where agreed) execute new and unique content formats that serve our patient communities. 
  •        Work with Technology and Marketing/Promotions to keep an eye on traffic and analytics to make sure projects are meeting traffic/play goals and discuss ways to improve. 
  •        Collaborate with senior staff and web editorial on SEO best practices as it informs editorial in particular.
  •        Collaborate with Content and Community team to ensure required reports are delivered to sponsors and relevant partners per MOUs/SOWs.
  •       Collaborate with Content and Community Director and Chief Technology and Marketing Director to refine overall project management flow and tools needed to execute projects end-to-end.

Post-Production Associate


Reports To: Assistant Production Manager

Position Description: 20-25 hours a week - initially a part-time contract position, may evolve to full-time employment if appropriate

The production associate will assist the production team in writing copy for programs on PatientPower.info and seeing content through the post-production process. This position requires a smart, energetic, compassionate, hardworking self-starter with exceptional verbal and written skills. In addition, it demands high attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for helping patients achieve the best health care possible.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

  •      Write copy for programs and special projects to be published on website
  •      Break up transcripts from long format programs and segment during post-production process; send to CM for review, then create production sheets for editor
  •      Provide editing direction to video editor as needed via basecamp
  •      Assist with posting and gathering information for videos with web publisher and other staff
  •      Write guest bios as needed
  •      Be available for select team calls with advance notice
  •      Work with the Web Editorial & Publishing Manger to prep/set up content in CMS
  •      Potential on-site support at off-site events 

 

Email & Digital Marketing Intern

Position Description:

The Email & Digital Marketing Intern will support the Marketing Manager with tasks that are required for digital marketing across all email and social channels. This internship opportunity is all about continued learning and hands-on experience with real client and internal work. Many of our interns eventually become full-time employees and in this role you will be responsible for learning how to deliver high-quality deliverables to address our business challenges and marketing objectives while receiving executive mentorship.

This is a part-time position with 15 to 20 hours per week in exchange for credit or hourly compensation depending on qualifications.

 

Key Marketing Responsibilities:

  • Assist Marketing Manager with compiling event and health topic newsletters using approved content and Mailchimp templates
  • Assist Marketing Manager with compiling and scheduling social media posts
  • Create tracking links for campaigns where needed
  • Assist Marketing Manager in gathering analytics for reporting using social media platforms and Google Analytics
  • Update project worksheets with actuals to goals
  • Assists Marketing Manager in recommending and creating strategic marketing tactics to drive measurable goals across campaigns and multiple platforms

 

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Well-developed written and spoken communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn
  • Self-starter, comfortable in a virtual team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • In-depth knowledge of social media channels (including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram)
  • Experience with email campaigns

 

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience with content marketing
  • Proficiency with email marketing tools and systems (MailChimp, HubSpot)
  • Google Analytics
  • Google Ads (SEM)
  • SEO experience
